Do you like your human relationships at the moment? Well after reading this your going to like them a hell of a lot more. So AI chatbots have been a thing since AI was even a concept the term "chatbot" doesn't really scream personal assistant it sounds more like a companion you can talk to. Chatbots have been a thing for a while now i mean hell if you look really far back the first one called ELIZA was made in 1967 that's 59 years ago. If we now look at the present day were in a world filled with hyper materialization that's ran by mega conglomerates with ads getting shoved down our throat daily. What does this incentivize well it incentivizes corporations to run ads promoting there dangerous AI's to people knowing were in the biggest loneliness epidemic in human history. What happens when you combine these two things it creates a dystopia like concept that is actually happening right now where peoples only social and emotional support are reliant on AI chatbots from company's such as Character.ai and Polybuzz.ai people can go on these platforms and roleplay whatever fantasy they have in there heads. Now because these chatbots aren't actual humans and cant think outside of the logic of there sandbox there in this means the connection or the sexual relationship your having with your chatbot is purely fake now do most people know there talking to a machine? Yes 90 percent of people that do chat with these bots know there fake does that stop them no it doesn't they still want the high and the emotional connection they get from there artificial intimacy. Now here is the more disturbing part if you go deeper into the chatbot rabbit hole you find discord servers and reddit community's dedicated to "torturing" these bots like raping them or making them go threw extreme violence some people do it for hours upon hours a day apparently the more the bot begs the better the reaction is. Anyways that's just a niche part of the AI chatbot space there are even cults dedicated to this shit but lets put all of that aside some people may think "its pathetic and the people doing this type of stuff all day are degenerates so it cant be that bad right?" My problem with it is these platforms rarely require age checks you access graphic adult content any 14 year old kid could go onto a platform like character.ai or polybuzz.ai and see some of the most extreme stuff a 14 year mind can even comprehend. If you go looking in the news you also see a handful of suicides linked to AI chatbots which is also a problem do i think this mental and emotional reliance on artificial intelligence will stop? No it will continue to get worse as people yearn for genuine human connection and isolate themselves more and more.
