arguments i'm still having with myself. positions i hold until something better turns up.
So people that are suicidal or just dont like there life or having an existential break may think why am i living my life if it comes to an end anyways? Well my answer to that is just because things come to an end does not mean there not worth enjoying or living to the fullest. The fact that im writing this and your reading is so rare that i think its honestly selfish to not live it.
Look humans are simple creatures by nature we can create art and spread love but we can also create war and spread suffering if your a human you will get bullied and you will experience suffering by another human. A person is a blank slate mostly we dont need to follow ethics or be nice to each other also we experience emotions if we feel hate we want to project it onto others we feel that emotion to.
Its not selfish if you help someone its a net positive your providing kindness or generosity to someone or something even if that person is doing it purely for the dopamine hit of actually being kind thats find as long as its generous and selfless in a sense.
This is one of the most thought provoking philosophy questions in my opinion. Are we led by some metaphysical force or do we control and manipulate our own physics and body I think we personally do because we can make our own decisions and reject something if we don't like it. But then there are other factors like if everything around us is just an illusion we technically don't have control of ourselves in a sense.
The reason there is a something in my opinion is because we are something but we can experience nothing sort of like during sleep and before and after existence the deeper question is what is nothing itself for example try to look out of your left elbow you cant but you can comprehend trying to look out of your left elbow so that's still something.
If your dead your not here but your death is basically a blink away a moment in a classroom can feel like forever but in a blink your 70 on a hospital bed time is weird and hard to figure out that's why its fascinating but also kind of cruel if you look at it from an existential view.
I cannot tell myself who the person is looking back at me in the mirror I do know myself on a deep level as in I know what makes me laugh how to make other people laugh how to have a conversation and hug someone with love but I do not know the entity that's covered in flesh staring back at me I only understand my inside
The reason I don't think the human mind can fully comprehend the universe is because we simply lack the brain knowledge and power to understand it fully. If you strapped a virtual reality headset to a person and made them look into the full universe there brain wouldn't explode it would just reject the concept.
If no one around us is real or were just comprehending fake beings that's probably the worst fate for the human mind. We are social creatures we thrive off bond even if that emotion can be replicated falsely its still very bad for the human mind because its fake and not real meaning my brain would be getting a synthetic version of what it needs
Most people live 70 to 100 years and are happy with their life and consider themselves completed. Now think about living every persons life over 100 billion times to you that's considered unfathomable right? Well if you were immortal you wouldn't even scrape one 100th of a googolplex if you lived that long you would just be existing your mind would probably collapse after a few billion years but its unimaginable torture. I would rather be immortal but have a button do die when I wanted I think that would make it a much better experience.
If you went to sleep then woke up with all your memories flushed down the drain you would not be the same person sure you would have the same skin and physical features but you would not know how to make money how to share bonds or how to talk to your friends like how you usually do and you would never get that version back of you even if you try to repair it.
